Capture an image
Choose Entire Screen, Selection, or Window from the scissors menu. For Selection, drag around the area you want and press Escape to cancel.

Quick answers for capture, annotation, recording, saving, shortcuts, and macOS permissions.
Edit and annotate
Use Capture Edit to crop, add text and shapes, draw arrows and lines, blur private areas, or focus attention by blurring the background.
Record video
Open Video Recorder, choose a display or window, select audio options, then Start. After Stop, choose where the recording goes.
Edit a recording
Split and trim clips, adjust audio tracks, add timed visual annotations, and export a separate MOV, MP4, or M4V.
Screen capture or recording is unavailable
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording and enable Snapvies. Quit Snapvies completely and reopen it before trying again.
The microphone is unavailable
Native microphone capture requires macOS 15 or later. Turn Microphone on in the recorder, select an input, and allow access under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
A shortcut does not work
Open Snapvies Settings with Command–Comma and choose another combination. Snapvies checks whether macOS or another application has already registered the shortcut.
A recorded window was minimized
Snapvies records a black placeholder while the window is minimized and shows a warning. Restore the window to resume visible content.
Where is my completed recording?
The Recorder shows the pending-file path with Copy and Show in Finder controls. After Stop, choose File Only, Photos Only, File & Photos, or Edit First. Snapvies does not automatically save user media before that choice.
Saving to Photos
Photos permission is requested only when you choose a Photos destination. Apple may sync items through iCloud according to your Photos settings; Snapvies does not upload them.
